The unique geographical location of Georgia gives us the basis to develop wine tourism. Winemaking in Georgia – the traditions of winegrowing date back to 8000 years ago, 500 of the 2000 grape varieties known in the world are Georgian. The tradition of making Georgian wine-jar wine has been recognized by UNESCO as a monument of the world’s intangible cultural heritage. Adjara is one of the oldest centers of winemaking among the regions of Western Georgia. Viticulture throughout Adjara is especially developed in Keda municipality. There are unique types of wine produced here:

“Keda Tsolikauri”

A late ripening wine grape variety with white grapes. It provides high-quality table white wine and naturally semi-sweet dessert wine.

“Chkhaveri”

A pink grape variety, the wine made from which is distinguished by its pink glow and delicate aroma. It provides high-quality wine material.
